Once again, two months . . .

I totally need to make this more of a habit!!!

Let's see if I can fill you in on all the details of our life since the end of August. Well, the last I wrote I had just started Grad classes and they have been pretty frustrating but not as time consuming as usual, even with taking two classes. The only problem I have been having is with a professor that I have never taken before who is just difficult, to say the least. Oh well, I only have 7 weeks left to go. :(

Work wise, Karl started his new job on Sept 16th and has been loving it. Since Sept. 1, I have been conferencing with parents and trying to get the beginning of the year conferences under way and done with. As of now we are already 9 weeks into the school year and I cannot believe that it has gone by so fast already.

On the weekend of Sept. 11 we, Karl, Amanda, and I went up to Michigan for my dad's wedding to his girlfriend of many, many years. It was a really quick weekend but it was really great to see all our family, even if it was freezing and rainy the whole time. :)

We also started updating our bathroom by adding some color to everything in there. It looks really good right now, not finished but definitely looks much better than before. It is almost hard to believe, but it actually looks bigger in there to me. This is something that I am definitely ok with, too.

Since then, we have gotten together with the Hills for amazing dinner and the McCarthy's for both their birthdays. We actually went to one of their parties tonight and had a lot of fun. Thank God for amazing friends and family. We also had a little get together at our house on homecoming night that was a lot of fun, too. Sad to say, both homecomings were lost. :( We had both homecomings on the same weekend, so needless to say we were busy.

It was good to see everyone in Brownwood. We had a great time with my sister just chilling in her apt and messing around campus. I also enjoyed my time with my gal friends and all the great conversations. It is nice coming back and I always tend to miss it, but I love where we are now and am very happy here.

Today we had our first alarm scare. We were visiting Karl's mom when we got a random phone call and I told Karl to answer it and it turned out to be our alarm provider that said our alarm had gone off and if they should send an officer. My heart about shot out of my chest. Basically, we ran out to our car and drove over to the house, hoping that we would meet an officer when we got there. Needless to say, a million things were running through my mind and I could not slow my breath down. It was very scary. When we got to the house, there was an officer there so Karl told me to stay in the car and lock myself in, so I did. I heard the officer mention that he checked the house out and it was all locked up still so that kinda put me at ease, but not really. So I called Karl's mom so I wouldn't just be sitting there thinking about what was going on and freaking myself out even more. Karl and the officer went through the house and everything was fine. The officer said that sometimes the systems glitch and go off but I am ok with that: better safe than sorry.

Whew, glad to get that off my chest. That is the main reason why I am finally getting to blog; I had to calm down enough to go to sleep soon. Tomorrow we are going to one of my student's soccer games and just hanging out, I guess. More than likely we will be sleeping in and enjoying some much needed rest.

Well I think that is all for right now. I will try my best to start blogging more (haven't I said that before?) it is just hard for me to sit down and want to write anything more each day. All I can say is that I am very happy where we are and couldn't ask for anything better. I am in absolute love with my husband and love everyday I am blessed to spend with him. God is good!

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

New Journey . . . Diamond Club

What does it take to make a diamond? Any ideas? According to Wikipedia, you know the source for all things, a diamond is "formed at high temperature[s] and pressure". Karl and I are excited to announce that we will be taking part in journey. A journey that will, hopefully, push us to Diamond. It will take a lot of work but we are excited for this opportunity for our team. What is Diamond Club? Why is this so exciting? Maybe this video will explain it better. Diamond Club creates a great opportunity for EVERYONE! It allows Karl and I to travel to areas that want to grow and also allows for new members to receive additional products with their enrollment and subsequent LRP orders. Free stuff??? Yes, please!!! It really is a great opportunity for everyone on our team. We are looking forward to the immense growth that will happen because of this wonderful opportunity. So you may be asking, how do I get involved? What does this look like exactly? Basically we...

Writer's Corner Number 8

Typed from written Journal Entry: I thought I’d change it up a bit and try writing in journal form tonight. I am also curious to see the difference in length of writing for both writing formats. Dr. Semingson suggested incorporating pictures into our journal writings/posts. I don’t have any pics from growing up – they are all at my dad’s house in Michigan – but I can start adding new pics from Alaska, especially when it comes time to talk about our honeymoon adventures there. Today I want to start by talking about earthquakes. I want to preface this “talk” with a story from when I moved to Texas. Not long into the start of my 7th grade year we practice emergency drills. I remember one of my teachers talking about what to do in case of an emergency: crouch down with your head near a wall and cover your head. I remember thinking that getting near a wall wouldn’t be the safest thing in the world but I didn’t argue – I didn’t know what that emergency drill was for. Now that I’m olde...
