What? I'm Blogging . . . Again?

Yes, it is true. I was able to finish "Brain Rules" today so herein lies the rest of the book's points for you. Rule #10: Vision trumps all other senses. I don't even know what to write for this one - this chapter blew my mind! Basically, vision trumps all other senses! It's amazing how our brain works. Basically, your brain creates much of what we "see" on it's own, without taking into account what we are actually looking at. Say what? Yeah, part of what we see is based off of past experiences. Weird, right? Just read the chapter - you will be amazed! Rule #11: Male and female brains are different. This chapter was short but I felt that it had some good stuff to it. Basically Medina goes into the details of our DNA, how each woman has two x-chromosomes and men have one x- and one y-chromosome. Easy enough if you paid attention in biology. What I didn't realize is the the majority of our brain's make-up comes from the x-chromosome. So b...

Perspective

As I sit here trying to decide what I will blog about a series of things rushes in. Visualizing them all my first thought I had was Perspective. It is perspective that truly drives one's life and determines the quality of it. During rough times it is hard to put things in perspective but when you do, its amazing how much more "doable" the task becomes. I feel that this is something that I have been realizing lately with the challenges that have been thrown our way and have been amazed at the change in mentality with just the simple realization that perspective makes the experience. With that being said, life has been pretty boring from where I sit, at least not as fast-paced as life is during the school year. Don't get me wrong, I love the break but it's about this time in my summer when I begin to get antsy. It has been so nice though to get to spend time with family, especially now that our nieces and nephew have moved back into town with their family. I ha...
