3 days til Christmas . . . ?????

Isn't it totally crazy??? I cannot believe how near it is and how much more we have to do!!! I mean I am just finishing addressing Christmas cards (sorry y'all, they won't be there until after Christmas but that is just how it's going to be this year :)) so hopefully they will be out tomorrow morning . . . maybe. :) So let's just say that I haven't really been in the Christmas spirit this year . . . and I feel terribly horrible about it. :( I am so glad that we are going to Round Rock tomorrow just for the change of surroundings. I love San Angelo, but I have been so bogged down with life lately that I hope it helps to just get away. I have been worrying about things that don't need to be worried about and just have been stressing over all those silly things that don't matter at all. I need to be enjoying my time at home (time off amen!) and not badgering my husband and bringing him down with me. He is such a great man and I am soooooo blessed to have hi...

Just One More Week Left

Wow it has been a long time . . . it's funny how that seems to happen. This has been a really long week to say the least. I was really looking forward to seeing my kids but once I got there, well to say the least they have been a little unruly. But only one more week, so we will all survive in the end. :) Well . . . drum roll please . . . we finally have a water heater! I found myself continually running my fingers through my hair roday in awe. I have really missed having it. Oh and we got our Jumpin Jammerz . . . well Karl did anyway. :( They sent a note saying that the one I wanted is on back order so they sent one that is "similiar". Needless to say I have been trying to get ahold of them to get the one I ordered but they are on Pacific time which just doesn't work with my teaching schedule. I guess we'll just have to figure it out. Karl and I have been able to a lot more time together and have really been growing. We went shopping last night and both bought ne...

Organization is Amazing!

So our house looks really nice (even though most of it is in the backroom) and looks clean!!! I absolutely love it. We had Karl's family over last night and we took some holiday photos and had an absolute blast. I think Kiana might have had more fun then we did. :) She really liked Madelynne and even gave Payton some kisses, too. It was really great! This week has been really crazy. I went to school on Wednesday and left early due to getting sick and major back pain on the right side of my body. Karl came and picked me up and took me to the Clinic and I told them about all the pain I had been having and they found blood in my urine and told me to take Motrin when I started hurting again and to come back again on Monday if I still hurt. That night I had another episode that was twice as worse as the first and I called the doctor in the morning and they set an appt up for me Friday morning. All day Thursday we worked around the house, setting up the Christmas tree and starting to cle...

Thank God for holidays

I have REALLY, REALLY enjoyed this Thanksgiving Break. We have had a lot of family time that I have really enjoyed with my husband, my sister, and my puppy. We got out early Tuesday and I came home to a broken water heater (which is still broken although it is the middle of being fixed, at least it's coming in from being ordered, supposedely) but had a great night, nevertheless. The next morning I woke up and we all went over to my school and worked on my classroom which iis starting to come into place, finally!!!! :) My hubby Karl is totally amazing and really helps me out a whole bunch. My room couldn't have gotten to where it is without him. We were up at my classroom a WHOLE crap load of time. We left at around 6 maybe 7 and I don't really remember what we did that night aftwerward. Anyway, Thanksgiving morning I took an amazingly cold shower and got ready to go to Shirley's house for Thanksgiving dinner and we had a really great time. I totally swamped people every...

We've got a clean pound puppy! :)

Today was Kiana's first EVER bath and it went great. She was a little scared but made it through really well. Afterwards Karl went to fix something with the faucet so he had to turn it on and she ran like crazy to the bathroom, so i guess she enjoyed it. :) I would upload pictures but either my computer doesn't like it or my internet won't let me. I hope to get it fixed soon so hopefully after Christmas I will be able to start uploading pictures. She is so adorable and is really, SUPER smart. I just love having her in our house. She's not totally ready to run around all by herself yet but she is still a real joy. So, we bought our Christmas gifts yesterday and they should be here in 3 - 7 days. :) This is what we bought. Here is mine: http://www.jumpinjammerz.com/green+diva+dotz/product-466-pajamas/ Here is Karl's: http://www.jumpinjammerz.com/red+dragons/product-522-pajamas/ I tried putting the pictures up here but you know how that goes. So, I am supposed to be wo...

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

What a day, what a day!

Let me just tell you, it has been a crazy day . . . strike that . . . a crazy week! For those faint at heart and who have a week stomach, this post may not be for you. The morning started alright. Kiana had a good morning and did not give me a hard time at all. I went to school and all during the morning instruction (reading) my spleen, at least I think it is my spleen, was hurting SO bad. I am going to probably go to the doctor soon to see about it. I hope it's nothing too serious. Then at the end of the day one of my girls tells me that her stomach hurts. So I let her get a drink and sit in my chair because she didn't feel like throwing up. Well, I am reading a story about farm animals and right as I saw QUACK she stands up and vomits all over the floor. So I send out my after-school care kids and then sent out my other kids to follow Brandi's class out the door. I told my little girl to just wait there, in her vomit, until I came back because no one would answer their ph...

Cough . . . Phlem . . . Cough . . .

Such is my life recently . . . and it is not at all enjoyable. I wish I could just get rid of all the gunk in my throat and stop sneezing and coughing. Anyway, here I on the couch, supposed to be working on my homework that is due today but I just can't get into it . . . again. :) It's hard for me to be at school all week then come home on the weekends and do homework. But enough about me . . . Yesterday was a lot of fun. Karl and I cleaned up the house and Grant & Amber came over for homemade pizza, which wasn't ready yet but at least they are willing to help with making food. :) Yay for cucumbers, carrots, and potato chips until the pizza was made, though. :) The pizza was delicious!!! So good, I can't beliieve how filling those pizzas are. You go to Dominos and can eat like a whole pizza and then you make one of our homemade pizzas for about 5 dollars and three slices fills you up like that. :) So good! After eating dinner, Nat and Mara and the girls came over fo...

How Time Flies . . .

Can you believe that Karl and I have been married for over 6 months? That is half a year!!! We have a house . . . BILLS . . . a beautiful chinchilla . . . BILLS . . . a gorgeous puppy . . . BILLS . . . great jobs . . . BILLS . . . and oh so much more. It is amazing how much we have been blessed even in this short time of being married. But I still can't believe that it has been that long. I was just spending some time on Facebook . . . you know an hour or so (it seems like you get sucked in for about that length of time and then you wonder where THAT time went, too) . . . and I realized that so much has changed for other people. I have 10 or so friends that just got married and about 10 friends who are about to get married. There are people that I went to college with who are having babies and those that have already had babies and gone through a divorce . . . WHEN DID WE ALL GROW UP??? When did we go from being children to adults????? It's such a weird thing to me. I look at m...

Surprise!!!

So we made it the whole week without telling a sole . . . we got a PUPPY!!!! Her name is Kiana and she is absolutely sweet and . . . well, for right now, knocked out from the meds. :/ I will try to upload a pic but will have to write more soon. You got to love her. :)

Exhausted

So we have been cleaning, reorganizing, and unpacking like crazy this weekend. I am so exhausted. I seriously think that we have done more the past three days then what we have done since we moved into the house. It's starting to look really good though and we are finding more and more room :). Of course the storage building is jammed packed, but that's what they're for, right???? :) The kitchen sink is still out of commission so all our dishes from the past week are just sitting on the kitchen counter. Nasty, I know, but such is life, I guess. I hope that it will be taken care of tomorrow. I'm ready for all our projects to be done with for a while. And then tonight as we were cleaning Kaycee's cage, our bathroom sink started leaking. :( We just can't get a break. So the only sink that we can use now is the one at the back of the house, which is alright with me. I just wish our house would stop falling apart. I was able to start buying Christmas gifts today and ...

Bored and Unmotivated

I can't believe it has been this long since I was able to post last. We have been pretty busy. And here I am sitting on the couch with nothing to do until 5:15 except homework and have I started . . . nope. :( It is so hard to be motivated to do it. So, I have been working on everything else and been watching t.v. all day. :( I know, I'm lazy. I just can't get motivated. I only have this month left of my online class and then I get a break . . . I just got to get there. I was glad, Karl and I both, to be able to get a break last weekend. We went back to Brownwood to see college friends and hang out. It was a great time and we were so happy to be back with people that we recognized and really knew us. We made some great memories and we can't wait to come back again. Hopefully next time Karl can take the whole weekend off and not just a day. :) He was really tired, that's for sure. This next week is our last week of the second six weeks and I am super glad becuase tha...

9 weeks . . .

That's right . . . this week of school is the ninth week . . . I cannot believe it! I'm already 1/4 of the way done with school. Isn't that just crazy? Wow! Well, much is going on. Amanda came down Wednesday night so we have been hanging out with her. It hasn't been that eventful because I got sick the next day after her getting here. :( It was just a hay fever thingy . . . I feel much better now. I've had a lot of time to rest so I think that has helped immensely. We went to get flu shots today but Walgreens was out. I don't know of anyone else that has the flu shot, so hopefully I can find something out soon. I definitely don't want the flu!!! We're sitting here watching Season 2 of NCIS. Amanda has the entire season and since we can't sleep, why not watch NCIS. :) They are sooooo great! So, I have a disgusting story. Really disgusting. I went to get in bed last night with Karl before he had to go to work (our nap time) and as I was getting into be...

Look out world, I am posting!

I was talking to my mother-in-law last night and she mentioned how I haven't posted in a while. So, I am foregoing my homework for now to post a quick little post about the life of the Roses. :) Well, let's see . . . our house is still jammed pack full of boxes. But I am happy to say that they are slowly being unpacked. I have been looking at fall decorations and I was happy to decide for myself that we are not going to decorate for Fall this year . . . so next Fall I get to buy all the decorations I want. :) Bring on Christmas! Hopefully we will be unpacked by then. :) We have done a few things to the house: cleaned the carpets, organized the two bedrooms, purchased plug-ins that smell like pumpkin pie and light the path, and have begun purchasing light bulbs to make our house brighter. :) Our next project is to buy lights for under my cabinets. I am tired of cooking in the dark!! :) Kaycee is happy to be in our new house, at least he seems like it. I love being able to see hi...

Guess what . . .

So, we have officially bought our first house together, have internet hooked up as well as Dish. This has been an awesome week! :) We are super excited! We even cooked our first dinner in the house last night (which wasn't that great . . . those darn potatoes did not want to cook) but it was still fun. The house is SLOWLY coming together. We have just had a lot of things going on to where when I get off of work Karl has been sleeping (or trying to sleep) all day. Once I get home, we run errands before everything closes then get back home just in time to grade a few papers and to get in bed. :( We are finishing up our first six weeks of school and I haven't actually taught all week really. We have been testing so I had a sub Tuesday, Mrs. Lee watched my class yesterday morning, and then today I am heading to a workshop. Tomorrow will be a great day, though. I just know it! I miss my kids! That's pretty much all to report as of now. I just read Mara's million of posts and...

My sleep schedule is so messed up . . .

I don't know what it is, but I just can't go to sleep. It's probably just that I have a million and one things on my mind and am excited about the new hous and stuff. But geez, I wish I could just go to sleep. :( Today has been a very productive day. I finished my paper that is due tomorrow, organized school stuff that desperately needed to be taken care of, graded papers, and started lesson plans for next next week. :) I know, SUPER nerd! :) Oh, and I started the next assigment, too. But, even with all that out of the way, there is still much to do. So I am listening to 90s Country Hits on youtube and trying to get more done. I probably won't be that productive though. :) So, the house countdown is now to atleast 5 days (since it is Sunday already) because, in a strange, twisted turn of events, the people we are buying the house from had to pay to have city water hooked up to the house. So yay! We get a well and city water! Boo that it's pushed back now. :( But hop...

Only 11 days . . . :)

Yes . . . we will be homeowners in (hopefully, if all the paperwork goes through quickly) in just 11 days and we are SUPER pumped. I think that might be an understatement. :) I have just finished my second week of teaching and I love it! It was REALLY hard at first but now that the kids and I know each other and kinda how we work, it has been great. My kids are great! They are sooo smart and are, for the most part, very polite. I love it! But, we do have this three day weekend, which I am absolutely loving, as well. :) Karl is loving his job. He's been having a hard time falling asleep lately, but I think it's just cuz we have so much going on. We have survived 1 - 2 weeks of Grad School (woot!!!). Karl's has been so much more difficult than mine. He has a 15 - 20 page paper to write by the end of the semester so we will need to pick a topic soon. I have to write a school report due by next Sunday. It's all good. Last night we went and saw the Hill's and the McCarth...

Jeepers . . .

Oh my it has been a really long time since I have blogged! Well, let's recap shall we? I started my new job on August 12th, Karl's Birthday. Karl started his job on the 18th, I believe. We both love our jobs! We have a contract on a NEW HOUSE which we close on the 16th of September. Karl's SURPRISE birthday party was great and he had no idea that anything was going on at all. Little Payton entered into the world last last Friday and she is absolutely adorable, to say the least. We haven't went and seen them since last weekend, but once we move into our house we will only be a few blocks away so I'm pretty pumped about that. Oh, and so is Karl! :) I just finished my first week of First Grade and it was really great! We both started Grad School recently and have been trying our best to stay on top of that and life, as well. It's been fun but a little crazy. We are starting to get into a routine, so once that happens, we'll move and then all will be great. Even...

God is Good!!!

So, since my last post (sorry they've been a little irregular) a lot has happened. I will try to give the abridged version for the sake of time out of my hectic schedule. Karl did finally get a hold of the jail and he interviewed on Thursday. Can I just say that they loved him???? So we had a really good feeling about it from the very day of the interview, even though we felt that way when we applied, too. And then Friday happened! Hallelujah! Christine from TLC called me and offered me a 4th grade teaching job which I accepted on the spot. I will be teaching Health, Art, Character Education, Social Skills, and Etiquette. It will be a fun challenge that I am soooo excited about. I picked up Amanda at the airport on Saturday after attending a beautiful wedding where I was able to see a lot of my school friends and talk to Candice. After eating with some friends I went to go pick up the late arriving Amanda (they missed their connection in Chicago due to customs) and then once she ca...

. . . life . . .

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I have been able to update. I will try to hit the highlights of the last week, but I am not feeling that well so if I forget something, I'm sorry. :) I overstretched my back or something yesterday when I picked up one of our kids (the smallest one, I will say) and my lower back has hurt pretty bad since then. Today it doesn't feel as bad as yesterday but I still have limited mobility. I had Karl dig into it yesterday and that helped quite a bit and I put heat on it and it has helped some, however I don't want to lay long enough for it to do any good. So, moving on to last week. :) Wednesday was Jim's birthday so we went out to Mertzon and had dinner and played poker. I lost 4 times, I think. I'm not totally sure, I lost count because Shirley kept giving me part of her chips and then I would lose them within a few hands. It was a lot of fun, though. Earlier that day I had my first interview for a teaching job at TLC Academy, a ...

It's been a while

It really has. I know we haven't had a whole lot going on but, WOW, it really has been a long time. Well, the Harry Potter movie we went and saw on Wednesday was AMAZING. Yeah, the cut out quite a bit, but it still followed the book enough to make sense. I loved it and so did Karl, minus the whole ending, which anyone who has read the books knows it's true to the book. Us before the movie - we are stoked! The movie billboard. Yeah for Harry Potter! Friday we went to another movie, yeah we've been bored. :) Well, Thursday night we decided to watch the first Transformers and after watching Karl looked over at me and asked if we could go and watch the second one the next day. I told him we would see, well, as you can tell, we did go and see it Friday afternoon. It wasn't that great, really. Yeah, the story line was good but whoever wrote the script for that movie should be ashamed of themselves. The dialog was horrible. There were cuss words everywhere, and not in the mili...

Step aside Betty Crocker

That's right, according to my husband, I make Betty Crocker jealous! Ha!!! LOL I really did have a great time cooking last night, even after a day at MDO. :) The kids really weren't that bad yesterday; I think it had a lot to do with the fact that we had a visitor early in the morning cuz once he left they got a little more . . . "tired" and like 2-year-olds. :) Needless to say, even though I didn't get my pay check yet (yay for Thursday!!!!, it was still a great day at MDO! It was even greater when I came home and Karl had already done a major part of the chores and found my MDO shirt that I just could not find - he is sooooo great! I mean almost everything except dusting and vacuuming, including dishes, laundry, cleaning up the living room, bedroom . . . so good! We had planned our meals for the week on Sunday and had decided that Tuesday night we were going to eat catfish, but I didn't know how I was going to cook it. :/ So, when I came home to a cleanish h...

Busy, Busy Day . . . I Hope

Well, the weekend ended . . . sad time . . . I have been loving these weekends - they seem so long and I like it that way. :) Saturday's game was a lot of fun, except for the hackler behind us who could not say anything positive whatsoever and was being a bad influence on all the kids around us. It was so horrible to hear and very frustrating. "Get off my field!" Really?? Your field? Hmmm . . . irritating! Anywho, even though we didn't win it was still very fun to watch. It was a really close game and had some really great plays. Before getting there, we drove around town and looked at the different neighborhoods around San Angelo, seeings how I have no idea what any of them look like, but now I have a much better idea and I can't wait 'til we get to get a house (don't worry Mom, it won't be for a very long time, we just like looking when we're bored). Well, we are celebrating this week because . . . Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes out...

. . . peaches . . .

Well, since Thursday, I have definitely gotten sick . . . :( it has not been much fun, at all. I think the worst part of ever getting sick is the whole having to sleep or just sit there all the time, I just hate it! Anywho, Thursday night we went out to the family cabin and had a little family get together for Nat's birthday. We had some yummy food and were able to play Apples to Apples together (which I think was rigged because I was the only person not to get one of those green cards). It was pretty hilarious, I must say, even if I was no where near winning, at all. Organic spit . . . geeze . . . Well, sad to say, I just realized that I left my camera out there, so Karl and I are going to try to run out there and get it today before going to the Stampede game tonight, although that is where my last one got stolen so maybe I shouldn't . . . hmmm . . . we'll see. Friday I slept in for a long time and when I finally got up, I printed out some letters for me and Karl and got ...

Just sitting on the couch . . .

. . . enjoying not being with two year olds. :) This week they have just really lived up to their nickname: the terrible twos!!! They have really been terrible!!!!We had ten today . . . yes ten . . . and they were all pouty and tired. Horrible!!! Needless to say I am pooped and exhausted. Plus, we figured out this morning that I may be getting sick, so that doesn't really help either. We shall see as the days progress if I'm gettin worse or not. I tried to apply for so more jobs yesterday but the administration building was closed so I will just have to wait until Monday to take care of it. I also stopped by another school that I applied at and found out that they weren't hiring anymore. So I was a little depressed but I was able to call my grandma and talk to her for a good hour and it made it a little better. We are both still praying for jobs. We know we are supposed to wait for His timing, but we both like to have a plan and right now we just keep flying by the seats of...

Hoo-rah!

So, we didn't actually get to go golfing yesterday (weather wasn't up to par) so we ate some dinner and, instead, went to an indoor soccer game, which was a lot of fun. I got to meet a friend from Karl's work and his wife (they just got married two weekends ago) - they are super nice. We had a great time. Then we went to Hastings to walk around, and the mall as well. It's funny how easy it is to walk around that mall. I think we were there an hour, and we were walking pretty slow. :) Something to get used to, I guess. But there is an Old Navy and a JC Penney, so life is good. :) After that, we came on home and played a little Nintendo 64 before heading to bed. Something exciting, though. We applied for a Corrections Officer position yesterday, so we are praying that Karl gets a call for an interview real soon. It would be such a blessing for us. In the meantime, I found some more jobs to apply for so I've been doing that for two days now. Yipee! Anywho, I better sta...

Crayons and Cheez-its

Both are amazing (and currently what my mind is preoccupied with). I've been working on Mom's Day Out stuff this morning, getting ready for tomorrow, and was a little snacky but (Nat) I AM NOT PREGNANT. ;) Brother-in-laws. :) Anywho, Karl & I had a superb weekend, it was probably one of the best weekends we've had since being married and living in San Angelo. Friday, we got the entire house picked up (don't count the office and Amanda's room) and it actually looks pretty nice in there. Then friends of ours came over Friday night and we ate and talked, ate and talked, and then ate and talked some more. It was a real blast and I'm glad that we were able to have them over. Such a blessing. Saturday Karl had to work in the morning, so I slept in (I'm going to miss that when, one day, I get a job) and awaited for him to come home. We've been playing the Nintendo 64 that came in quite a bit (we'll prolly have to move it somewhere else because it is suc...

. . . Two Year Olds . . .

Phew, today was a little long, but still good . . . thank God for the weekend! :) I've decided, from working out a Mom's Day Out, that I love 2 year olds! They are so much fun . . . and potty training really isn't that bad at all. I never really knew the patience that I had for them existed like it does. It's amazing how you can have patience for some things and then not for others. Anyway, I basically decided that I really want to have kids today. :) Now, Karl and I have talked about it for a while that we are going to start planning for a family five years from our marriage (so like 4 years 10 months today, you can expect a possible Rosita or Rosito [little Rose for all you gringos]) and I am still TOTALLY behind that, but now I feel that atleast I am somewhat better prepared for the thought of children. I can't wait to babysit Madelynn and baby #2 to get even more practice under my belt. Yay for nieces & (possibly) nephews. :) We are planning a yard sale for ...

Yay for Tuesdays

It's true, yay for Tuesdays! I made it through another day of Mom's Day Out so that's always a good thing. We are definitly going to wait a LONG time before ever having children . . . they just tire you out. Of course there are 8 or so there, but that's basically going to be our family anyway, so . . . we will wait. :) My new phone came in today and it's really cute!! I haven't looked at the owner's manual yet to figure it out totally but it's simple and tiny. :) Anywho, we just got done eating some dinner. We set up a new budget this weekend and we are so going to stick to it this time. :) So we went ahead and started to break it in just a day early. We were just craving something fast food - Wendy's . . . mmmmmm . . . :) Hit the spot and for real cheap, which we like. It's going to be a real chill night for us tonight. Karl is playing the Wii, golf to be exact, and I'll prolly upload some pics to facebook or something, who knows. Adios!...

Newbies

So, Mara let me into her blog and I decided that we should do one, as well. I'm pretty excited about it. Anywho, I got to go get ready for Mom's Day Out. Much more interesting and intriguing posts to come, I hope. :) It is the simple life . . .
