It's been a while

It really has. I know we haven't had a whole lot going on but, WOW, it really has been a long time.

Well, the Harry Potter movie we went and saw on Wednesday was AMAZING. Yeah, the cut out quite a bit, but it still followed the book enough to make sense. I loved it and so did Karl, minus the whole ending, which anyone who has read the books knows it's true to the book.

Us before the movie - we are stoked!

The movie billboard. Yeah for Harry Potter!

Friday we went to another movie, yeah we've been bored. :) Well, Thursday night we decided to watch the first Transformers and after watching Karl looked over at me and asked if we could go and watch the second one the next day. I told him we would see, well, as you can tell, we did go and see it Friday afternoon. It wasn't that great, really. Yeah, the story line was good but whoever wrote the script for that movie should be ashamed of themselves. The dialog was horrible. There were cuss words everywhere, and not in the military scenes where you would think they would be. And then, to top it off, there was a lot of adult innuendo and obvious adult "humor" that I found not funny at all. All in all, I would not recommend it to anyone. And if they do make a third one, like Karl thinks they will, you can count me out.

And actually before going to the movies, Karl and I were able to go to the Library, get library cards, and checked out Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets to read. We are trying to read the whole series before the last two movies come out. We read the first one while on our honeymoon. :) So, after getting home from the movies we figured out that we could download books from the library for 2 weeks at a time and listen to them. So, that's what we did. We are so excited about them. :)

Later Friday night, we headed up to Shannon and stayed talking to Sharon and Stephanie until 3 in the morning. Yeah . . . I know, but we always have such a good time, we can't pull ourselves away. So needless to say, when we got home we were tired.

And did I mention that Karl had to work the next morning? And how he woke up at 6:40 and not 5:45 like he usually does? It was ok though and it all worked out but it was still really scary. Then he came home and we slept in til about 1ish. Yeah, talk about lazy. Then we got ready and drove out to Mertzon for Madelynn's First Birthday Party. She got a lot of good things and was just adorable eating her cake. :)

Random shot of us at the party.

Yummy cake! :)

Here's us with the birthday girl!

Sherri, Sharon's sister, stayed the night with us Saturday night and her, Sharon, and Shirley came over for about an hour and a half and we talked, talked, and talked. Then, after Sharon and Shirley left, we talked and talked with Sherri. :)

Sunday was a pretty lazy day, really. We played Phase Ten Dice and watched Happy Feet and Monsters Inc.. I like Sundays, although I always feel like I should be doing something productive, I know that I should be resting. So that's what we did. :)

Last night I didn't feel too well and right now I'm still not feeling that well either. So I'm waiting for Karl to come home for lunch to come and check on me and then after he gets home from work, he's planning on mowing the lawn, then we'll hopefully head on over and see PawPaw since he's home now. We're excited!

We still haven't heard anything about jobs yet, so keep praying. I did find out that this week they will start calling teachers for interviews so I'm just praying that they call me.

Hope you have a great week!

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

New Journey . . . Diamond Club

What does it take to make a diamond? Any ideas? According to Wikipedia, you know the source for all things, a diamond is "formed at high temperature[s] and pressure". Karl and I are excited to announce that we will be taking part in journey. A journey that will, hopefully, push us to Diamond. It will take a lot of work but we are excited for this opportunity for our team. What is Diamond Club? Why is this so exciting? Maybe this video will explain it better. Diamond Club creates a great opportunity for EVERYONE! It allows Karl and I to travel to areas that want to grow and also allows for new members to receive additional products with their enrollment and subsequent LRP orders. Free stuff??? Yes, please!!! It really is a great opportunity for everyone on our team. We are looking forward to the immense growth that will happen because of this wonderful opportunity. So you may be asking, how do I get involved? What does this look like exactly? Basically we...

Writer's Corner Number 8

Typed from written Journal Entry: I thought I’d change it up a bit and try writing in journal form tonight. I am also curious to see the difference in length of writing for both writing formats. Dr. Semingson suggested incorporating pictures into our journal writings/posts. I don’t have any pics from growing up – they are all at my dad’s house in Michigan – but I can start adding new pics from Alaska, especially when it comes time to talk about our honeymoon adventures there. Today I want to start by talking about earthquakes. I want to preface this “talk” with a story from when I moved to Texas. Not long into the start of my 7th grade year we practice emergency drills. I remember one of my teachers talking about what to do in case of an emergency: crouch down with your head near a wall and cover your head. I remember thinking that getting near a wall wouldn’t be the safest thing in the world but I didn’t argue – I didn’t know what that emergency drill was for. Now that I’m olde...
