Summer of Reading!

How can you tell if someone is done with their Masters/Undergrad, etc? They get to read for enjoyment! That's right! I am finally able to read for enjoyment and I have been loving every minute of it. Currently I have been reading a book entitled "Brain Rules" by John Medina. While it is heavy in scientific beliefs (such as evolution and multi-million years of life) it lays out some very interesting points about the brain, it's functions, and ways that we can benefit our brain in our daily lives. Here are a few things that I have learned thus far (I'm starting chapter 4 tonight): Rule #1: Exercise boosts brain power. It has been suggested in study after study that exercise boosts cognitive growth and that those individuals that age well do so because of how active they have been their whole life. Life Update

Wow, I think this is the longest that I have gone without posting. Sine November! Thanksgiving! Wow! Let's see if I can update you all on our life since then. So much has happened. 1) We had a California Christmas with my parents before they moved here to San Angelo. We got to tour the Jelly Belly factory, go on a whale watch, and peruse the streets of San Francisco as well as hike through some of the tallest trees I've ever seen. It was a grand trip. 2) Also celebrated Christmas with the precious Rose's. It's nice when we can all get together and hang out. The kids definitely had a great time making Jesus' birthday cake. So adorable! 3) I GRADUATED WITH MY MASTERS FROM UTA! Yes, it's that exciting. It has been difficult transitioning to non-student life but I know I'll get there. 4) Well, with new years come changes.
