2012 in Review and 2013 Resolutions

Wow, I can't believe I only blogged like 5 times last year. I had good intentions .... :( One of my resolutions this year is to be better about blogging. Here they are:

1. Blog at least once a week.
2. Work out at least 10 minutes a day, building up to 45 minutes.
3. Make healthier choices in what I eat and drink. Only eat out 2 times a week, including "snacks".

Karl and I have been truly blessed this year. God has blessed us more than we deserve and we are continually in awe of Him and where he has placed us. Every year we receive these great letters from family of their year in review and we absolutely love reading them. Here is my attempt to do the same thing. I'm horrible with remembering dates and events (just remember the memories) so if I forget to write something down, I apologize beforehand.

January: No more Grad School for Crystal! Woohoo!

February: We welcomed Kinley home with loving arms. She has been an exciting addition to the house. She is clearly the second "child" and, as silly as it sounds, she has taught me a lot about "life". She is always making me laugh. Oh, and my diploma came in!

March: I got the opportunity to go to Orlando with my Mom and Sister. It was so much fun, other than having to drive there and back but Mom did most of that. It was my first time to visit Disney World and to say that I absolutely loved it would be an understatement. And the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was ... well there are now words for it. Loved, loved, loved it all!!!

April: In April I had the honor of being a part of the wedding of Wes and Kandice Reed. It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with the Dilla Chicas and Kandice & Wes's family. Love them all and miss them.

May: Karl and I were able to go to Michigan with my Sister to visit family, including my late Great Grandma. It was wonderful being together and to celebrate her 100th birthday. We had fun visiting the Octobarn (sp?), hanging out with family we don't see enough, and just having fun, fun, fun!!! Oh, and Karl and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary - seems like just yesterday we were still in college without a care in the world ... or student loans. Poo!

June: The summer is always an amazing time of relaxing and enjoying time with family and friends. Needless to say we LOVE summer. Karl started his new job with PASON and was gone quite a bit. :( I'm definitely glad to have him home now. We loved getting to see one of my roommates, Mrs Sara, from college get married this June. We loved getting to see them and other friends from HPU. Miss them all!

July: More summer fun! In July I got the opportunity to hang out with the in-laws at Six Flags. While my poor hubby was working, I got to have tons of fun! :) Love 'em! So many laughs and wonderful memories!

August: August marks our 1 year anniversary of Financial Peace planning. In August we paid off our first student loan (with 3 more to go) and had paid off two small credit cards and my graduate school at this point. As of today, 12/29, Karl and I are still going strong with our Debt Snowball and are currently working on paying off our car. We hope to be debt free in or before March 2014. We can do it!!!

September: Dilla Chica weekend! I had so much fun spending time with my college girl friends and have a Pinterest Project weekend. It was so fun getting to just talk to them and share about our lives. I absolutely love these girls and wish that we lived closer!!!

And, precious Kiana turned the big 3!!!! :) Love that precious girl!

After many months of research and after both our vehicles bit the dust (well the Malibu was still "working" but not very reliable) Karl and I bit the bullet and bought our first new car. We plan to have it paid off by March if everything plays out like we hope. So blessed!!!

October: I forgot to mention that my little sis started working in Orlando this summer at the Magical World of Disney. The great thing about her working there, other than the fact that she's working at DISNEY, is the discounts. :D So with that being said, Karl and I got to fly with my parents to Florida for a wonderful mini vacation, filled with Disney Magic and the obvious magic of Harry Potter. I loved that I got to experience it with Karl. I can't wait to get to go again, maybe with little ones? We'll keep hoping anyway.

October also brought another wedding, adding to the family a new cousin. It was fun getting to hang out with everyone at the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. I absolutely love Karl's family and they are so awesome! It was also fun having a guest at the Casa de las Rosas and stay up late talking and sharing. :)

November: Not much happened in November other than me being sick off and on for the majority's of it. No fun!!! We did have our first doTERRA party and had lots of fun talking to others about the oils. I have loved being able to share these oils with others. I am so thankful that my mom introduced me to them and have appreciated what they have done for me and my family, already.

December: December is always a rush of events and this December was no exception. I began the month by going on another mini vaca with the in-laws to six flags. We also went to the Gaylord Texas' ice sculpting exhibit which was pretty neat. We also got to ride the North Pole Express and see Santa, too. We were able to have Christmas with both our families, minus my Dad and Mary, this past week. So many laughs and good memories. We LOVE Christmas!

Now with only two days left of 2012 I am looking forward to spend 100% of my time with my amazing hubby who has been working like crazy lately. I will report more on our trip afterwards with plenty of pictures.

Hope your 2012 has been amazing and Happy 2013!!!!

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

New Journey . . . Diamond Club

What does it take to make a diamond? Any ideas? According to Wikipedia, you know the source for all things, a diamond is "formed at high temperature[s] and pressure". Karl and I are excited to announce that we will be taking part in journey. A journey that will, hopefully, push us to Diamond. It will take a lot of work but we are excited for this opportunity for our team. What is Diamond Club? Why is this so exciting? Maybe this video will explain it better. Diamond Club creates a great opportunity for EVERYONE! It allows Karl and I to travel to areas that want to grow and also allows for new members to receive additional products with their enrollment and subsequent LRP orders. Free stuff??? Yes, please!!! It really is a great opportunity for everyone on our team. We are looking forward to the immense growth that will happen because of this wonderful opportunity. So you may be asking, how do I get involved? What does this look like exactly? Basically we...

Writer's Corner Number 8

Typed from written Journal Entry: I thought I’d change it up a bit and try writing in journal form tonight. I am also curious to see the difference in length of writing for both writing formats. Dr. Semingson suggested incorporating pictures into our journal writings/posts. I don’t have any pics from growing up – they are all at my dad’s house in Michigan – but I can start adding new pics from Alaska, especially when it comes time to talk about our honeymoon adventures there. Today I want to start by talking about earthquakes. I want to preface this “talk” with a story from when I moved to Texas. Not long into the start of my 7th grade year we practice emergency drills. I remember one of my teachers talking about what to do in case of an emergency: crouch down with your head near a wall and cover your head. I remember thinking that getting near a wall wouldn’t be the safest thing in the world but I didn’t argue – I didn’t know what that emergency drill was for. Now that I’m olde...
