Let's Play . . . Catch Up

Hey everyone! Phew have we been busy. We have been so blessed through this season of our lives. Let's see if we can catch up real quick.

What are better than our friendships? Maybe creating with our friends??? Stephanie and I had SO MUCH FUN making these little gems of Christmas decorations. Who knew that burlap could be so much fun! Literally a fun, simple project that we really enjoyed making. It has actually encouraged me to create my own creations using this same process. It really is a lot of fun and is something that anyone can do.

So glad that I was able to spend this much needed time with Stephanie. Ever just have a connection with someone that no matter where you are or how long it's been since you spoke to them that you can just pick up and have a blast? Definitely have that with Stephanie and I LOVE IT! And her! And can't wait to meet her little man - any day now. :D

A few days later was . . . Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for and one of those is our family. We had such a great time fellowshipping (is that a word?!?!) with both sides of our family - although I only have pics from Karl's side. Enjoy the cuteness!

Do you guys want to help shuck the corn? What does that mean? Ha!

The kids love their time with Paw Paw!

The table is set - time to eat!

M giving her presentation on the Pilgrims.

S giving his presentation on the parts of a turkey.

P giving her presentation on the life cycle of a turkey.

How precious are they????? I'm a little partial but I know I'm right!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Karl and I (with the help of my fabulous mom) were able to finish painting our master bedroom and get the furniture set up. It's well on it's way to being a wonderful, relaxing space.

Next, GREAT WOLF LODGE! Um, can I just say that this is my favorite place to visit within the state of Texas, for reals!!!! And I don't even like water parks - say what?!?! We were able to spend some great time together and make some wonderful memories together.

This face!

Oh my!

The kids love their characters!

Talk about perfect!

Story time with M. P & S wanted to spend more time in the water park.

Can't have too many selfies.

Why is she getting so big?!?!

Spending some one-on-one time, waiting for the siblings and parents to finish playing in the water park.

And yes, she totally drank all that was left of my water bottle at one time. What a goof!

The next day we were able to head over to the Gaylord Texan for the Frosty the Snowman exhibit. I LOVE this exhibit! It reminds me so much of our time in Fairbanks, AK growing up. I love ice carving!

Look at this cute little family!

You're never to big for an ice slide!

Oh, and we just HAD to go tubing while we were there, too! We had fun spinning down "hills".

Ok, so I have been blessed to be able to get to spend time with the nieces and nephew each week (mostly). I had told them sometime in November that we were going to surprise their parents and Nana and Paw Paw with making them Christmas gifts. I kept telling them after Thanksgiving that we would make them. So what is the first thing M asks me after eating Thanksgiving dinner . . . Sigh . . . They are too smart for their own good!

First, I had them write their names on the bags. P is thrilled! LOL!

Then we successfully created gifts for everyone. We made five different DIYs with oils. AND HAD A BLAST DOING IT!!!!

How cute are these three?!?

We finished making the gifts and P asks, "What about Uncle Karl's gift?" So sweet, so naturally they decided to make Karl shampoo. HA!

Jump forward a few days and a few hundred miles (we took a trip to the Corpus area for a wonderful doTERRA class) to our local doTERRA Christmas party. Can I just say how blessed I am by all these wonderful people?!? We had a blast and the food was delicious! We played Bingo where EVERYONE was able to win one to ???? different goodies. Love my salt scrubs!

Then we did white elephant. So much fun! I can't even tell you! So blessed!

Oh yeah! Sitting pretty! Oh, and did I mention that I had a kidney stone? Yep, sure did.

So, yeah, about that kidney stone. I had woken up a week prior to the Christmas party in excruciating pain. Nervous as to what was causing the pain, we ended up in the ER and found that I had a kidney stone 1/4 of an inch in size. Yay! Welp, with the help of the oils, I was able to dissolve the kidney stone - it never passed. I used the oils for both pain and to dissolve the stone. So blessed by these oils!

Fast forward to a random bath time with the pups. Be prepared for some sad faces.

Kinley hates anything being draped on her. Look at that face.

I think Kiana's face tells it all - no way Mom!

And I just thought I should add this pic because our girls are just too cute! Sharing a bed. LOL!

The following pics are from our Make and Take that we were able to have at our house a few weeks ago. We had an absolute blast!

Debbie pouring the vaporub-like salve with Eucalyptus and Breathe. She played Mad Scientist a little bit and made a few other blends, as well.

Here are the gals making Chex Mix with peppermint. Yum!

These girls got messy! Here they are making bath salts in ornaments. So cute!

Look at that face!

Here's anther random, puppy love pic for ya.

Another great thing about this season in our lives - random road trips to Abilene. Why not take the nieces with you? Loved our time together!

We had to grab a bite to eat at Red Robin.

Once again I only have pics of K's side, but here are some shots from Christmas with the Roses. The kids were so excited to give their gifts to their parents and Nana & Paw Paw - Karl, too. ;)

We have been so blessed this Christmas, but one thing that we have been reminded of is the blessing of the friendships that we hold dear! So thankful for everyone!

Final update. I told you there had been a lot going on! Starting Dec 13th at the Christmas party we had a 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway with our Team Synergy group with doTERRA. Each day wellness advocates in our team were able to either earn free goodies or points towards free goodies. This weekend I was able to get all the goodies earned put together with the help of my mom and sister. So excited to get to hand out these goodies to everyone! We had over 50 people that shared during our giveaway! So blessed by the openness to share!

Ok, there ya go. Already I'm remembering things that I did not include - so take a moment to read through this list . . .

-Lunch with the McCarthy's (LOVE)
-"Into the Woods" with the Seester
-Hanging out with the Carlos & Val PLUS Daniel & Jennifer - WIN-WIN!
-Sewing a Tacky Sweater for Maya
-Helping with a Class in Odessa

And I'm sure there's more . . . but I think it's time for bed. Night!

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

New Journey . . . Diamond Club

What does it take to make a diamond? Any ideas? According to Wikipedia, you know the source for all things, a diamond is "formed at high temperature[s] and pressure". Karl and I are excited to announce that we will be taking part in journey. A journey that will, hopefully, push us to Diamond. It will take a lot of work but we are excited for this opportunity for our team. What is Diamond Club? Why is this so exciting? Maybe this video will explain it better. Diamond Club creates a great opportunity for EVERYONE! It allows Karl and I to travel to areas that want to grow and also allows for new members to receive additional products with their enrollment and subsequent LRP orders. Free stuff??? Yes, please!!! It really is a great opportunity for everyone on our team. We are looking forward to the immense growth that will happen because of this wonderful opportunity. So you may be asking, how do I get involved? What does this look like exactly? Basically we...

Writer's Corner Number 8

Typed from written Journal Entry: I thought I’d change it up a bit and try writing in journal form tonight. I am also curious to see the difference in length of writing for both writing formats. Dr. Semingson suggested incorporating pictures into our journal writings/posts. I don’t have any pics from growing up – they are all at my dad’s house in Michigan – but I can start adding new pics from Alaska, especially when it comes time to talk about our honeymoon adventures there. Today I want to start by talking about earthquakes. I want to preface this “talk” with a story from when I moved to Texas. Not long into the start of my 7th grade year we practice emergency drills. I remember one of my teachers talking about what to do in case of an emergency: crouch down with your head near a wall and cover your head. I remember thinking that getting near a wall wouldn’t be the safest thing in the world but I didn’t argue – I didn’t know what that emergency drill was for. Now that I’m olde...
