Thankful

Well it seems as though I have some catching up to do on things that I am thankful for . . .

3. I am so very thankful for my husband Karl. God definitely had us in mind to be together and I am so thankful that He has blessed me with such an amazing life partner. I absolutely love spending time with him and his heart. We ahve gone through rough times as well as amazing times, but I am thankful to say that I was able to experience both with him just in these 4 years that we have been together, 2.5 of which have been while we were married. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.

4. I am very thankful for my family. I have always loved having a large family and I know this is in part due to the largeness of our family. I am definitely looking forward to my mom and step-dad moving closer to us. Now we just need to get dad and Mary out here . . . hmm . . . how can we accomplish that?

5. Staying within the realm of family, I am so very thankful for my in laws. Growing up I never really thought much on the subject of in laws as I really didn't know how I felt about the whole marriage thing. Then I met Karl and that obviously changed. I am so blessed to have in laws that I not only can stand to be around (because I have heard that this is not always the case with some people) but absolutely love spending time with. I know that this is such a blessing and I am so very thankful for it.

6. I am thankful for the ability to teach. When I graduated in 2009, fresh out of college the teaching jobs were pretty sparce. I am so thankful that my principal gave me a chance to begin teaching. I am so thankful to work in a place where students are encouraged to be leaders and realize that they are the ones who decide what they will do with their lives. I truly love working there and love seeing the students grow into leaders.

7. I am thankful for my sister Amanda. Growing up we didn't always get along but we were definitely there for each other. So many of the experiences in my life have been with my sister and when I am with her it's like we are one person, completing each other sentences and thinking on the same "wave length". I have definitely been blessed with her in my life. I always look forward to spending time with her and look forward to seeing what God has in store for her.

8. I am so very thankful for our home. We have lived in our house for just over two years which has been so great. I definitely love home ownership. I am so thankful for having the opportunity to own a home and look forward to the many memories that will happen in our house.

9. I am thankful for our dog Kiana. She has been a blessing in many ways and I am so thankful that Karl allowed us to go ahead and get a dog and then I am also thankful for Karl's mom for actually adopting Kiana for us since the Humane Society felt that we were not fit to adopt. She has taught us so much and has actually prepared us for children - which are still a long way away. I absolutely love having her!

10. I am thankful for the opportunity to continue my education and, more importantly, the fact that I am graduating in December! It has been very difficult at times and will definitely make me appreciate having the degree once I receive my diploma. I am so excited to get to wear my hood!!!! :)

11. I am truly thankful for the various people around the world that are fighting for our freedoms. I am thankful for their life of service and sacrifice. I am thankful for my parents, grandparents, cousins, and other family and friends who have been a part of our military - THANK YOU!

12. I am thankful for the time that God gives me with each of my friends and family. Thinking back on friends that I have lost in the past few years, I am more than thankful for the time I was blessed to spend with them and look forward to seeing them in the next life.

Now off to work on homework and school work. Only one month and 4 days left until graduation day!

If this happens one more time . . .

Anyone know a good cell phone service provider? This is the second time that we worked with someone at AT&T and I am about ready to switch providers. We went in there today to get my phone moved to Karl's plan, which we had to get a form filled out by my mom (well, kinda :), it helps when I can sign like mom; it's not like I didn't have her permission) in order to do so. We walked in and talked to this guy, gave him the form, and we thought that he understodd what we needed to be done and he just started going. We got to the point where I would pick out a phone and he started getting stuff ready and I re-asked him, after he wanted to know what number I wanted to use for it, if my phone was now on Karl's plan and he just went crazy on us. Basically he said that we never told him that that is what we wanted. He was very rude, basically saying that it was our fault that he did all this work for nothing. It was very disheartening and I really wanted to tell him to forge...

New Journey . . . Diamond Club

What does it take to make a diamond? Any ideas? According to Wikipedia, you know the source for all things, a diamond is "formed at high temperature[s] and pressure". Karl and I are excited to announce that we will be taking part in journey. A journey that will, hopefully, push us to Diamond. It will take a lot of work but we are excited for this opportunity for our team. What is Diamond Club? Why is this so exciting? Maybe this video will explain it better. Diamond Club creates a great opportunity for EVERYONE! It allows Karl and I to travel to areas that want to grow and also allows for new members to receive additional products with their enrollment and subsequent LRP orders. Free stuff??? Yes, please!!! It really is a great opportunity for everyone on our team. We are looking forward to the immense growth that will happen because of this wonderful opportunity. So you may be asking, how do I get involved? What does this look like exactly? Basically we...

Writer's Corner Number 8

Typed from written Journal Entry: I thought I’d change it up a bit and try writing in journal form tonight. I am also curious to see the difference in length of writing for both writing formats. Dr. Semingson suggested incorporating pictures into our journal writings/posts. I don’t have any pics from growing up – they are all at my dad’s house in Michigan – but I can start adding new pics from Alaska, especially when it comes time to talk about our honeymoon adventures there. Today I want to start by talking about earthquakes. I want to preface this “talk” with a story from when I moved to Texas. Not long into the start of my 7th grade year we practice emergency drills. I remember one of my teachers talking about what to do in case of an emergency: crouch down with your head near a wall and cover your head. I remember thinking that getting near a wall wouldn’t be the safest thing in the world but I didn’t argue – I didn’t know what that emergency drill was for. Now that I’m olde...
